Greetings Mount Moriah!
I hope you’re having a great week, and making the most of your quarantine. I pray that everyone is healthy and well. If you are struggling in any way, please reach out to us so that we can pray and help you. And remember that God is still in control, no matter how things might appear.
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint!” Isaiah 40:28-31
Attached to this midweek update, you’ll find our prayer list and the daily scripture reading selections. We give thanks for God’s answer to our prayers for James Tannery. His open heart surgery on Monday was extensive, but successful. He is recovering at Duke Hospital in Durham.
The new website is up and running. It is not complete at this time, but we felt it was time to launch it as-is. You can find us at www.mmbc.life We will continue to update and improve it in the days ahead. Check it out. You will find that our online giving platform is up and running. (Thanks to Rebecca Edwards and our Budget and Finance Committee for making this possible) Now you can give without leaving the safety and comfort of your home! Just click the giving button at the top of the homepage.
As we approach the weekend, we remind you to join us Sunday morning for worship. You can find the link to our online service on our website. Just click “sermons” to see recent services, and subscribe to our youtube channel to get instant updates when we add new content.

Maundy Thursday. In addition to our Sunday worship, we plan to have a special online communion service next Thursdsay, April 9 at 7pm. I’ll be sending more details and information on how to join that time of worship. For now, prepare needed items to share the Lord’s Supper in your home. Bread of some kind, and juice of some kind will work fine.
It appears that we’ll be unable to gather on Easter Sunday as well. However, some of our members are erecting a wooden cross at the top of the church driveway, between the cemetery and the sanctuary. On Easter morning, you’ll be invited to drive by and place some flowers on the cross! “Flowering the Cross” is one beautiful way we can testify to the resurrection, even though we’re unable to gather. Please email other ideas for ways to celebrate Easter from home, and we’ll share them as that time approaches.
Thank you again for your continued prayers, faithful giving, care and concern for one another, and trust in the Lord through this time. May God bless us as we continue to trust in Him and bring the Gospel to life!
Blessings!
Michael Tolar
